Mother and Daughter Take Their Dyslexia Story to Washington

advocacy

A breathtaking, inspiring true story. As an Educational Therapist, my job is to educate parents to be aware of their children’s unique needs and be the advocate.  In the US, especially in California, I am surprised to realize that students with learning disabilities are not diagnosed at an early stage. Parents are also unaware of their kid’s abilities.

As a consequence of this unawareness of parents and school administration, these children keep struggling throughout their early academic stages. By the time, they are middle school age; the damage is already done.

Hopefully, this incident will lead to vast parental awareness.
