PEERS for Adolescents is an evidence-based social skills program for adolescents in middle and high school who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection.


Participants are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations, and practice these skills during group socialization activities.

Participants will learn about:

  • Developing and maintaining friendships
  • Conversational skills
  • Entering and exiting conversations
  • Appropriate use of humor
  • Handling disagreements
  • Electronic communication
  • Being a good sport
  • Organizing get-togethers
  • Handling teasing and bullying
  • Changing a reputation

Dates and Availability (Summer-Fall 2026)

PEERS® for Adolescents

Duration: 12 weeks STARTS JUNE 27th, 2026

Time: 5.30- 6.45PM

DAY: FRIDAY

Where: Virtual via ZOOM to make it accessible for participants across California.

Planned Terms: Year-round

Participant Requirements

To ensure the program is an appropriate fit and that participants benefit fully, the following criteria are required:

Eligibility Criteria

  • The participant has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or related social communication challenges.
  • The participant demonstrates an interest in learning social skills in a group setting, including building and maintaining friendships.

Attendance & Commitment

  • The participant and their caregiver (social coach) must be available to attend all scheduled weekly sessions.
  • Due to the structured group format, make-up sessions are not available. Consistent attendance is essential for skill development and group continuity.

Caregiver Participation

  • A caregiver or designated social coach is required to participate in the parent/coaching component of the program.
  • The caregiver supports skill practice and generalization outside of sessions.

Communication Skills

  • The participant should be able to communicate verbally at a conversational level or demonstrate functional expressive and receptive communication skills in the language of instruction- ENGLISH

Cognitive & Participation Level

  • The participant should have average or above-average cognitive abilities and be able to actively engage in group discussions, role-plays, and structured activities.

Language Requirement

  • The program is currently conducted in English.
  • Participants must have sufficient proficiency in English to understand and participate in group sessions.

Final placement is determined after an intake consultation to ensure the program is an appropriate fit for each participant.


Rates & Payment

Moumita Si Pallachulla, PEERS Specialist, and Educational Therapist—$150 per session for individual/family therapy sessions. The office is located in Rancho Penasquitos 92129.

PEERS for adolescent

Intake Consultation: $130 per hour: Our intake consultation helps determine whether the participant is ready to benefit from a group setting or would be better supported with individualized sessions to build pre-group readiness. This ensures each participant is placed in the most appropriate environment for meaningful progress and success.

$130 per session (12 weeks)

TOTAL = $1,560 for participants

Parent sessions are MANDATORY and have separate payment options. Please get in touch with us for payment options.

PAYMENT PROCESS

We accept cash and Venmo as forms of payment.

Payment for individual and family sessions is due at the end of each session.

Payment is due in FULL before the start of the first PEERS group.

An alternative payment installment option for the group is available upon request.

Insurance

We do not accept insurance at this time. However, we can provide a superbill upon request. A superbill is an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement after payment.

Depending on your insurance plan, services may be reimbursed in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify your coverage and reimbursement details.
